Do not exceed the rated voltage, as this could cause a fire.
Do not use a soldering iron if the power cord is damaged, as this could cause a fire or shock.
It is normal for a new soldering iron to emit smoke during the first use; this will stop soon.
Do not overtighten the tip set screw, as this could damage the heater.
The tip is covered with lead-free solder, which can burn or stick if heated without use. Tin with solder when energizing for the first time.
After each use, wipe off old solder and tin with new solder. Do not file the tip, as the iron and aluminum plating will be damaged.
