How To Use

How to Mount:

  1. Remove your crank from your bike.
  2. Unscrew the 4 bolts holding the two chainrings together with a T-30 torx key.
  3. Remove both original rings.
  4. Locate the new inner chainring with the triangular timing indicator positioned behind the crank arm.
  5. Ensure the bolt holes on the small chainring are recessed for the nut heads to sit flush.
  6. Position the Absolute Black outer chainring's specific mounting tabs correctly on the new version of crank arms (for older cranks, locate the recess behind the crank arm).
  7. If only changing the inner chainring, use the original bolts.
  8. If replacing a pair of rings, use regular ‘double’ chainring bolts or Absolute Black Bolt covers.
  9. Tighten all four bolts to 5-7Nm.
  10. Mount your crank back to the bike and adjust the front derailleur if changing the outer ring size.

Important:

  • Ramps on big rings are specially configured for combinations: 50/34, 52/36, 52/38, 53/39T. Using other configurations may require adjustments to the front derailleur.
  • Always use a new chain when fitting new chainrings.
